What does ByteFit change?
Does ByteFit upload my image?
No. The image is decoded, re-encoded, measured, and exported in this browser tab.
Does it guarantee the exact target size?
It guarantees the result is at or below the maximum when the browser can encode one. It does not pad a file to an exact byte count.
Why are JPEG and WebP the outputs?
Both support lossy quality changes in the browser. PNG quality is not adjustable through Canvas and may stay too large for a strict limit.
